Why One Should Participate in the GIRO Contribution Scheme Initiated by Singapore Bangladesh Society (SBS):
- The purpose of this drive is to increase number of contributors/active participants to SBS activities. It will grow ownership attitude among contributors/participants.
The more successful we will be in this drive, the more (financially) self-dependent SBS will be. - More welfare activities, which can benefit Singaporeans, can be organized using this fund. This will enhance the image of Bangladeshi community in Singapore. It could potentially open up many other opportunities to Bangladeshi origin community in Singapore.
- In long-term, our 2nd generation and thereafter will get the benefit out of the welfare fund.
- SBS management can approach Singapore local authority to match the contribution (Dollars to dollars). If successful, it will multi-fold the welfare spending to Bangladeshi origin community / other community and as well as to Singaporeans.
- In future, we may approach Singapore government to be a collection agent for the GIRO, like how we are regularly contributing to other self-group which benefitted all Singaporeans, regardless of religion, race and language.
